Privacy Policy

This website is operated as part of the Parkito network of parking directories. We take the protection of your personal data seriously and process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and which rights you can exercise at any time. Browsing the public pages of this website does not require an account and does not involve any profiling by us.

Data we collect

If you create an account we store your email address, your chosen name, your country and language preferences and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in readable form. If you use the contact form we receive the message you send, the email address you provide and basic technical data needed to answer you and to prevent abuse. If you save favourites, those selections are linked to your account. Our servers additionally keep short lived technical logs, including IP addresses and browser information, strictly for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

Purposes and legal bases

We process account data to provide the services you request, which corresponds to the performance of a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Technical logs, abuse prevention and service security rely on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in keeping the service safe and available. Where we ask for your consent, for example for optional communications, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

Analytics

We use privacy conscious website analytics to understand how the service is used and to improve it. Analytics data is processed in aggregated or pseudonymised form, IP addresses are shortened or masked where technically supported, and we do not use analytics to build advertising profiles of identified visitors, nor do we combine analytics data with account data.

Sharing and processors

We never sell personal data. We share data only with a small number of service providers that we need in order to run the website, such as hosting, content delivery and security services and email delivery. These providers act as processors under Art. 28 GDPR, are bound by data processing agreements and may only use the data on our instructions. We disclose data to authorities only where the law obliges us to do so.

International transfers

Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we rely on adequacy decisions or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with additional safeguards, so that your data enjoys an equivalent level of protection wherever it is processed.

Retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists and is deleted or anonymised when you delete your account, except where the law requires a longer retention. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Technical security logs are automatically deleted after a short period. Backup copies are overwritten on a rolling schedule.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the FADP you have the right to access the data we hold about you, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in your country of residence. Security

All pages of this website are served exclusively over encrypted connections and we apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, as required by Art. 32 GDPR. A summary of our measures is published on our Security page.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical or organisational changes. The current version is always available on this page and material changes will be indicated by the revision date below.
